Okay, so I’ve been a total slacker on updates. Lets see:
We took vacation the week after Thanksgiving. This was a complete lazy holiday, we stayed home and vegged out playing video games
We were supposed to go to a Rennassaince festival in Hammond at the end of the week along with a side trip to New Orleans to get some good grub but sadly I got sick. Bah..
The friends we were going to go to the festival and stay with have a new baby and we decided that it wouldn’t be fair to share my germs. I was brewing a nasty chest infection and by that point could barely squeak out a sentence as I had lost my voice so we went to the broadwalk in Shreveport and froze to death there instead. Copelands Cheesecake Bistro however made it all worth it. mmmMMMMmmm. I swear Louisiana is the most variable temperature state, it can drop 20 degrees in a matter of hours, no wonder everyone starts dropping like flies this time of year.
Nara left us on Friday 12th to go to her new home. She apparantly has settled in very quickly. She follows Angie and Mike all over the house and is being extremely cute and friendly with them. I’m real glad and they have taken to her quickly too.
That same day was our wedding anniversary. 6 years..
How time flies. We did our traditional Tokyo’s Japanese Steak House for dinner and had sushi for lunch too so a very asian themed day. Very enjoyable too especially as they got the ticket wrong in our favour and said don’t worry about it when we pointed it out. It was a $15 difference too, I wasn’t about to complain further and she promised it wasn’t gonna come out of anyones paycheque either so we just left them an extra tip.
Dieting has gone to pot, I know I’ve put on weight but I am a bad comfort eater when I am sick. Oh well, we’ll get back to it asap
Which prolly means Jan 1st along with everyone else
It has been helpful that Lousiana’s ethic laws were tightened up recently and we are not allowed to accept any gifts at work. Which means the usual abundance of cookies, cakes, chocolates and other treats has not turned up in our breakroom. My waistline is extremely greatful
We have our friends christmas party on Sunday which is gonna be a riot as usual. Way too much food and drink I’m sure
Good stuff although I’m sure the cats will not be amused. At least until present unwrapping starts. This will be Kai’s first christmas with us and I suspect the little hobgoblin will have a field day with all the paper. She recently discovered a strip of bubble wrap in the trashcan and much to our amusement has been having a blast popping the bubbles with her teeth. Crazy cat.
